We started out as an Elderly and Disabled Program and grew to providing transportation services for the general public. As you can tell, we had our hands full just keeping track of every driver, every rider, every special need. Our old Excel sheet just could not handle the demand and give new reports as needed. We looked into several types of dispatching software at several conferences, talked to other providers and we decided that your software was the best for our operation. The beauty of it is, that it met our needs when we started and now that we provide 10,000 trips a month, it still works great for us.  The cost is very reasonable for our program, the updates and training are great also. We love that we can talk to you and ask questions, suggest improvements, get updates and even just visit a friend. Where would we be without you?  We could not afford other software programs and they were more than we needed and could understand.

I would like to share that we used to have a manual system that was based on MS Word.  Standing orders were cut and pasted daily, and dispatching was based on hard copy of the daily schedule.  Hence, add-ons and cancellation after printing were being inserted and deleted manually on the hard copy.  Client list was off a Unix-based system, and the two systems (Word-based scheduling and Unix-based data base) did not communicate.  Transportation Manager system from Shah Software solved this problem for us at MEO Transportation.

For us, the system's simplicity caught my attention at the Austin CTAA conference.  Then we were impressed by its versatility and flexibility during the demo phase.  Our planners and dispatchers liked the interface.  This proved beneficial during the roll-out, as our supervisor and MIS were able to easily work with you.

The Transit System bought this program about 5 years ago for our home office in Glen Rose and a satellite office in Granbury.  Before we purchased the Shah Software, our operation was TOTALLY manual.  Every manifest and report was generated by hand.  With that came lots of stress on our staff.  During the month our dispatch office (2 employees) had to answer phones, dispatch drivers, write manifests, keep daily data for monthly reports and the list goes on.  As you can see, it was extremely hard for us to stay "On Time".  On time means a lot to our passengers, our dispatch and drivers.  As our demand from the public grew, our need for a dispatch program also grew.  So we began to look at what was on the market.  We looked at many different programs, and almost all of them where too elaborate, too expensive, and definitely not user friendly, for a small rural system.  When we talked to other providers that were using some of the programs we looked at, they expressed the lack of communication from the Tech. department.  Many could no longer use the software, because it didn't work half the time.  Then we looked at the Shah Software, and it was everything we were looking for:  Simple, easy to use, and within our budget.  The software was installed and a training day was given to us and our staff ran with it.  Now we are more efficient than ever before.  No more cramped hands and stressed employees.   The Tech support is absolutely wonderful.  All our questions are answered the same day we asked them. We could not ask for a nicer more knowledgeable Tech department

We are a small urban transit district serving approximately 65,000 residents and were established in the early eighties. From the beginning of the ADA act we always used a contractor for our Paratransit services. We started to plan to bring the service "in house" and planned to do so in 2003. We started our planning by looking closely at the software available on the market. We began this planning in late 1999. In March of 2002 our contractor informed us they were no longer interested in performing this service any longer and would not be signing the extension to the existing contract which expired on June 30th. This gave us 90 days to obtain vehicles, manpower, scheduling software, etc. I had investigated all of the scheduling software available at different trade shows and was most impressed with the Shah Transportation Manager software. I must admit what first attracted me was the low cost, compared to other software programs. What really impressed me though, is the ease of using the software. We purchased the program, implemented it with no formal training and very few calls to Mr. Shah for assistance. It does everything we need it to do and more. We have had no problems with the program and Shah Software is very receptive to including additions we have requested in the updated versions. If your agency is shopping for Paratransit Services software, I highly recommend the Shah Transportation Manager software program. You owe it to your tax paying constituents to at the very least take a look at it.

Transportation Manager from Shah software is the most user friendly, easy to understand program there is. The technical assistance is great, knowing that someone is available to answer your software user questions was quite the relief.
